Roofing Mechanic


Job Description

Status: Non-exempt, Full-time

MasterCraft Roofing is looking for a Roofing Mechanic! MasterCraft Roofing installs a wide variety of commercial and residential applications requiring the utmost attention to detail, quality, and skill. The Roofing Mechanic will be responsible for installations and repairs on both residential and commercial roofing applications. Compensation for this position is higher than the industry average in the State of Washington because we are looking for the very best. The most important qualifications of this position are a willingness to learn new installation methods and skills, a mindset for safety and efficiency, and an attention to detail!

Responsibilities

  • Labor with crew to complete all aspects of jobs assigned by the company, including tear-off, repairs, installation, and other jobs as assigned

    • Be prepared to do all aspects of jobs assigned by the foreman as necessary for satisfactory job completion.

    • Be on time for all shifts and ready to go at the assigned time with company equipment.

  • Work safely

    • Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as needed or instructed.

    • Abide by all job-site safety requirements, including PPE, fall protection and others.

    • Report all situations improperly protected or other safety concerns.

    • Refuse to put yourself or others in a situation deemed unsafe by OSHA or company policy.

  • Participate in trainings

    • Participate in weekly safety meetings.

    • Attend all companywide training events.

    • Participate in manufacturer system-specific training.

    • Participate in all other training as assigned.

  • Deliver excellent quality and customer satisfaction

    • Perform work according to MasterCraft quality standards – be willing to learn new methods of installation and adhere to MasterCraft workmanship practices while on the job.

    • Treat customers and customers’ property/neighborhoods with respect and with attention to cleanup.

    • Collaborate with the assigned crew and work for the benefit of all.

Qualifications

Work Skills

  • Roof system installation – the ability to install, or willingness to learn how to install, the following roof systems correctly

    • Torch Down Flat Roofing

    • Metal Roofing Panels

    • Asphalt/Shingles Roofing

    • Roofing Repairs/Tarps

  • Language Skills — ability to read, analyze, and interpret work-related documents

    • Purchase Orders

    • Receipts

    • Other relevant work documents

  • Mathematical Skills – ability to use mathematical skills relevant to the level of service

    • Measurements, shapes, geometry

    • Basic Calculations (addition, subtraction, etc.)

    • Financial transactions (dollar amounts, sales tax, etc.)

  • Cost Consciousness – ability to contribute to profits and revenues and conserve company resources

    • Make authorized purchases responsibly and according to company standards.

    • Responsibly use company finances, vehicles, tools, machinery, and phone/computer systems, per company guidelines and policies.

Education and Experience

  • Essential

    • Ability to work 8- to 12-hour shifts, weekdays, and occasional weekends.

    • Ability to drive to company headquarters and to job sites in the Greater Seattle area.

  • Preferred

    • 1-5 years of roofing or construction experience

    • Commercial Driver’s License

    • Sheet Metal Experience

    • Forklift Driving Experience

  • Bonus

    • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour card

    • CERTA

    • First Aid/CPR Training

    • Manufacture systems training

    • Special equipment training
